I only ball yarn if it comes in an unusable hank, like Cascade 220 or Malabrigo. Usually if it’s already wound into a skein, I just keep it in the skin and try to find the center pull :). I do have a ball-winder and yarn swift, and they come in very handy when necessary!

Hi! Mine was a custom made by athinalabella but it looks like she is on maternity leave right now! Just poke around etsy searching for custom resin candy necklaces or something like that :)
Geezus, I love this girl. Love her book, love her designs. She’s my TOP inspiration for when it comes to knitwear design, since I wanna be a knitwear designer specializing in Harajuku-influenced designs.
Gosh you’re so sweet!! I can’t wait to see what you design!!! I have a knitting loom/machine but have been afraid to figure it out! ;) xo
Hmm, that is tough! I encourage people to dress how they like, but I don’t necessarily encourage people to rebel against their parents ;). When I was 13, I was super nerdy and just wanted to blend in and fade into the background. I didn’t care about clothes at all until college, where I wore the grossest clothes possible, haha :P. I am sure my mother has rolled her eyes at me MANY times throughout my life, but again, I didn’t really wear anything out of the ordinary until I left home. Maybe you could compromise with your mom and just wear like one super cute necklace or bracelet or hair piece, or have one or two super cute tshirts. You don’t have to go all out and freak your mom out at once. Maybe you can ease her into being ok with it :). Maybe let her know that you’d be showing less skin than other outfits that 13 year olds might wear out there! For me, I think it’s less about dressing like a baby…..but more like…. even as we grow older, I don’t see why bright colors are no longer acceptable. Everyone should be allowed to wear color and polka dots and ruffles and rainbows!
Twinkie Chan (check out her amazing book, it’s full of great patterns!)
Oh, hey thanks!!! Heheheh xo
Hi! I keep meaning to design gift cards and put them in my Etsy shop. When I have time to do that, I’ll probably do a giveaway as well. Now that my blog is up and running again, there will be more fun stuff like that :)
Hi! I will not have my own table there. I’ll be part of the Brands Boutique Pop Up Shop at booths 339 and 341. More info here! http://thebrandsboutique.com/calendar/axpopupshop.php
You lucky duck!! I stopped looking for it personally because I needed to focus on finding a good substitute that is actually in production!
Hi! Yes, I do sell some of my items on Shanalogic right now, and I also used to model other items for Shana :)
I would think about your experience as a shopper. How do you like your packages to ship? What delights you when you open your package? I try to keep it simple because I don’t want to create a lot of waste. Tissue paper, my business card or a postcard, and a sticker on top. Sometimes, as a shopper, I get a discount code on a next order, or candy, or little trinkets. Really, it’s up to you!
Hm, there are a million ways to go about it, but I would start with a basic shape, like a square, circle, triangle, over, or whatever, and then crochet an irregular pattern around it in the round, to give the edges some wonkiness. Increasing and then decreasing in different patterns will give you fun curves and bumps. Make sure to increase your stitch count in this process so your pieces doesn’t start curling in. Good luck! xo
Hi! I finished almost all of the design, but I am just waiting for my web guy/ brother to have time to make it all work! I’m eager, too!
